Man suspected of being the Stockton serial killer is charged with three murders

Santiago Rodriguez-Martinez, 31, and Jose Rios-Aguirre, 28, appeared in court Saturday after being charged with three counts of murder after they were connected to four separate, unsolved cases over the past several years.

SANTA CLARA — A suspect charged with three murders is also accused of killing three other women in recent years, and authorities hope to make an arrest in those slayings soon.

A probable cause statement filed Friday accuses Santiago Rodriguez-Martinez, 31, of killing three women over an eight-month period in the Stockton and El Monte area in El Monte in December 2016, March 2017 and April 2018.

Rodriguez-Martinez appeared before a judge Saturday afternoon and was charged with three counts of murder. Court documents say Rodriguez-Martinez killed two women in the El Monte area on Dec. 29, 2016 and two women in the Stockton area on March 1, 2017. Prosecutors
